PHILS FEVER LEADS THE MISSION BEACH ISN’T MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, APRIL 21ST-24TH, 2011!!
Actually, as opposed to our last trip to San Diego, we have decided to stay in the Gaslamp District this year at one of the nicest hotels we have been able to use in our almost decade of running trips! This is also a short 10-15 minute cab ride to Mission Beach and just a few blocks further to Pacific Beach! Nice part about the Manchester Grand Hyatt is it is just a short 2-block walk to the start of the Gaslamp District which is the height of the entertainment area in San Diego, and a 3-block walk to Petco Park! No need to waste and increase package prices with charter buses!
Don’t worry though, no trip to San Diego would be complete unless we had a trip to Pacific Beach!! Why? Because Phils Fever has a relationship like no other with the Olde City Grill, Plum Crazy, and Bub’s Dive Bar, two of them Philly bars and all of them Pennsylvania bars! We will crawl there on Friday and may even include a couple other of our favorites like Miller’s Field and Moondoggie’s!!
On Saturday, we will definitely be hitting up two of our favorite Gaslamp bars, Henry’s Pub and Whiskey Girl! We will also have a tailgate before every game. We will piggy back our friends from the Olde City Grill who run one for every Phillies/Padres game and have a lock on everything in San Diego!
Your game tickets will be on the 3rd base side where the Phillies dugout is and they will all be lower level!! I promise this will be a trip to remember and Blue Horseshoe LOVES San Diego!!
